Belt buckle challenge

Last year I made my first belt buckle for the World Championship Belt Buckle Competition.  It was made of squirrel fur, perforated steel and copper.  I really enjoyed making one so I decided to try again this year.  Since I am currently enrolled in an experiment enameling class at Lillstreet Art Center- I wanted to incorperate some of the techniques I learned.  I really like the look of the screen imbedded in the enamel.  I also like keeping the ash and dirt from the kiln on the metal so it shows up on the white enamel.  Here are some pictures of the finished product and some samples from my class.
